REQUIREMENTS
WHO CAN BE MEMBERS?
GIRLS & WOMEN
All graduates of Basic Education (Pre-School, Elementary, High School), College, and Post Graduate units, as well as alumnae who have stayed for at least two (2) years in SSC Manila, are accepted as members of the foundation. Those who have become members before the approval of the 2022 Amended By-laws, will automatically be accepted as continuing members. The 1991 By-laws had a more liberal requirement of at least one (1) year of study in SSC Manila, if not an SSC graduate.
BOYS & MEN
Representing only about 2% of the total student population, the policy of accepting them into SSC is one step in the direction of engaging boys and men in the global effort to provide more balanced gender roles that will remove social and cultural barriers that prevent women and girls from achieving their potential.
Other than the Boys of Sister Gratia (Kinder 1931-1972) who are Honorary Scholasticans with no voting rights, the Scholastican HS Boys and College Men are accepted as members of the foundation. Since SY 2016-17, Battig Foundation scholars have been accepted in the Visual Art & Music Strands of the Junior and Senior High School. Men are currently accepted in the following specialized programs of the College unit: Music, Fine Arts, Interior Design, Hospitality Management, and Tourism.

ALUMNAE SERVICES
RELIGIOUS
As a Benedictine community, we believe in the importance of the day-to-day living of our motto “ora et labora” as well as other Benedictine values which we have been taught and reminded of constantly while in school. We continue that tradition for alumnae through offering religious activities including retreats, recollections, prayer groups, special masses and soon pilgrimages as well.
HOMECOMING
Held on the Sunday closest to St. Scholastica’s feast day (Feb. 10), this event is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with fellow graduates, reminisce about old times, and enjoy a night of fun and laughter. Our talented alumnae will showcase their skills in music, dance, and more, at St. Cecilia’s Hall, providing an unforgettable evening for all. In addition to the entertainment, we will have alumnae souvenirs available in exchange for donations plus a catered dinner.
ALUMNAE ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITIES
We offer special bonding activities for batch representatives, our partners in getting our message through to our alumnae and back to better serve our constituents. We offer talks, seminars, workshops, and other fund activities to all alumnae, on a wide area of topics such as: Wonder Woman Wellness, Women’s Empowerment, Continuing Education, Social Issues, and a Sustainable Earth.
BENEHEALTH
The greatest wealth is HEALTH! We are offering a financial assistance program for medical/health related needs of alumnae with at least 2 years residence in SSC or to retired teachers with at least 10 years tenure teaching at SSC. Contact the SSAFI office for assistance or to donate to sustain this service to Scholasticans and their mentors in need.
PERKS
Being a SSAFI member has its privileges and we are currently building a new perks program that can give you access not only to our school libraries, beyond graduation, but also discounted access to Scholastican businesses and services. Now, we have renewed our co-branding with Petron Value Card which offers points accumulation applied to future oil and fuel purchases.
MEMORY WALK
Join us for a walk down memory lane! SSAFI is excited to offer a guided tour of the campus, where you can relive your favorite memories and see how things have changed (or not) over the years. You’ll also get to see the new buildings and facilities that have been added since you graduated. This is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni and reminisce. There is much to see on the tour as St. Scholastica has a rich architectural as well as educational tradition. Tour guides are currently former and current teachers at the school who will be training more guides so that more walk schedules can be opened up. In the future, we will invite alumni to join an informal docent training program that will make you even more proud that you’re a Scholastican!
If you want a batch tour or a small private group tour, please contact the SSAFI office at least one week before the date you want, to check for available time slots and give us time to prepare.
Just some FACTS about the tour:
1) Maximum tour group capacity is 20 pax.
2) Suggested minimum donation of PHP500 donation per pax to sustain this tradition.
3) We try to keep the tour down to a little over 1 hour. There is a lot of walking involved but it’s the talking, all at the same time, that can tire you faster!
